Kilchoman 100% Islay 14th Edition

he fourteenth edition of Kilchoman 100% Islay 14th Edition is composed of a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks with a 9:1 ratio, aged for a minimum of 9 years. This version, bottled in 2024, uses Publican barley grown on the Kilchoman farm and peated directly at the distillery on Islay. The peating process is carried out in a very artisanal way and the peat levels are almost never exactly the same; however, the distillery estimates an average level of about 20 ppm.

The Kilchoman 100% Islay is the only product from the distillery to use entirely barley from its own farm; this whisky is bottled non-chill filtered, with no added colouring, at 50% ABV.

Nose: soft peat, lemon and green apple, vanilla, sweet malt and biscuit, with light herbal notes and a hint of wood smoke.
Palate: balanced and rounded, with elegant peat, sweet malt, fresh citrus, honey and vanilla, followed by cereal notes and light spices.
Finish: medium-long, warm and delicately smoky, with returning notes of malt, citrus, white pepper and a light saline touch.
